General Motors is recalling over 10,000 trucks and SUV vehicles that are pose a danger on the roadways due to 2 major safety issues. The first, the 2011 Chevrolet Colorado, has been found to have a faulty parking brake. When the vehicle is in park, it may roll away when shifted due to a defect which occurred during the manufacture of the vehicle.

Another vehicle, the GMC Canyon, is also being recalled because the vehicle may fail to start.
The 2011 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon make up over 9,000 of the total vehicles recalled.

Other vehicles that are affected by the recall are as follows:
 

  • Cadillac Escalade;
  • Chevrolet Silverado;
  • Suburban Tahoe;
  • GMC Yukon; and
  • Sierra. 

The recall began formally on July 19th. GM is offering to install a new set of automatic transmission adjustment clips for vehicles. They are also offering to tighten the intermediate steering shaft bolts to ensure that no loss of steering will occur.
