Phil Tatlow has been a litigator since 1991. Mr. Tatlow is licensed to practice law in the states of: Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. He has handled cases in jurisdictions in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. 
 
He has practiced in the Missouri Court of Appeals, and Circuit Courts around Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District Court and Western District Courts of Missouri and in the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. Phil handles Federal Litigation of ERISA disability, life and accidental death cases in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin Federal Courts as well as affiliating with attorneys from other jursidications on complicated ERISA cases. He also handles complex wrongful death and accident cases, involving automobile and truck crashes, nursing home abuse and workplace accidents.

Mr. Tatlow obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1986. His Father was a well respected trial lawyer and his Mother was an author of short-stories. This background helped prepare him for his legal career in representing many different types of people in a variety of cases, and for his work in the courtroom. Mr. Tatlow worked with the developmentally disabled before law school where he helped start a group home for Mildly Mentally Disabled Women in Columbia, Missouri. This experience helped prepare him for representation of individuals with severe disabilities and injuries.

Mr. Tatlow is a Member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis; the Missouri Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, the Association for Justice; and the Missouri and Wisconsin Association of Trial Attorneys, The Top 100 High Stakes Litigators, the National Trial Lawyer's Top 100 Missouri Trial Attorneys, the Multi-Million Advocates Forum, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and a Member of Super Lawyers for Missouri and Kansas Attorneys.

Phil handles Automobile and Trucking Injury cases, Premises Liability Cases, Nursing Home Neglect and Abuse cases, Wrongful Death and Brain Injury cases, Worker's Compensation cases, ERISA Long-Term Disability, Life and Accidental Death Cases and Civil Rights Cases involving deaths or severe injuries. Phil has also handled railroad crossing accident cases and Asbestos cases.  He handles OSHA construction accidents involving deaths an injuries on the job site.
 
For much of his career, Phil's clients have been injured people that have insurance disputes involving accidents,  injuries, death and disability matters. Many cases have involved clients exposed to industrial noise at work and injuries due to repetitive trauma or falls and industrial accidents involving chemicals or machinery at work. Some of his clients have included firemen, policemen, factory workers and individuals that drive over the road semi-tractor trailers.  Other clients have included attorneys, doctors, corporate executives, and even insurance company representatives that are wronged by the company or insurance companies on payment of their disability or life insurance benefits or pensions.

 Phil has also handled Civil Rights Litigation in Federal Court and other civil litigation involving fraud in real estate matters, insurance contracts, breach of contract and general personal injury litigation. He has represented police officers, sheriffs, and deputy sheriffs officers accused of Excessive Force and violation of Civil Rights in dozens of cases. He has also represented injured parties who were the victim of excessive force in the City of St. Louis and other parts of Missouri. He has successfully tried to a jury each of the eight (8) Federal Civil Rights cases in Federal Court that went to a jury trial. In six he represented the police officers and County and in two he represented the injured party. He was successful on Motions for Summary Judgment or during mediation on many other civil rights cases that were resolved before trial.

Phil has handled over 175 jury and bench trials in State and Federal Courts and Administrative Tribunals. He has handled in excess of 225 ERISA cases involving long-term disability benefits, life insurance proceeds or accidental death benefits. Many of these benefits are granted during the administrative and mediation process, but some have to go all the way through a trial or Summary Judgment and some get appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Phil has served as a lecturer for the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys on ERISA litigation and personal injury topics such as: Ethics in Personal Injury Litigation, Successful handling of automobile accidents and damages. He has served as a reviewer of Missouri Bar CLE books on damages and personal injury matters. He has lectured to Insurance Claims examiners and attorneys on Worker's Compensation and to the 8th Circuit Social Security Conference on ERISA law and how this impacts Social Security law. Mr. Tatlow has lectured on ERISA law at the Missouri Small Firm and Solo Attorney Conference and to other attorneys at the Washington University Law School Courtroom on behalf of USA&M. He has served as a presenter to the Missouri Paralegal Association Annual Conference on How to Handle Worker's Compensation Claims. He recently spoke to both the Annual Small Firm and Solo conference and at the annual Missouri 
Association of Trial Attorneys conference on ERISA litigation topics.
 
Phil is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell and is rated 10/10 by AVVO, which are both the highest ratings given by these Lawyer's rating services. He has been selected as a Super Lawyer in Personal Injury law and ERISA. Super Lawyers is a service in Missouri and Kansas ranking lawyers in Mo and KS.  Only 5% of lawyers are recognized as a Super Lawyer.
