On February 21, 2012, a Missouri House committee heard testimony on a bill that would move four judges from the City of St. Louis to counties in the southwestern part of the state.  The bill's sponsor said that no judges would have to physically move to the southwestern part of the state, but rather, the changes would be made by moving a position once a City of St. Louis judge retires or leaves the bench.  The sponsor of the bill, Rep. Stanley Cox of Sedalia, said he was not sure of the bill's chances of passage this year.
