A class action lawsuit was filed last week in the US District Court for the District of Columbia against the NHL by ten former hockey players, claiming that the league concealed information about repeated blows to the head causing brain injuries and neurological problems.  The players who filed suit were Brad Aitken, Darren Banks, Curt Bennett, Richard Dunn, Warren Holmes, Gary Leeman, Bob Manno, Blair Stewart, Morris Titanic and Rick Vaive.  The suit claims that the league ignored medical research on repeated head injuries and did nothing to promote player safety until instuting a concussion program in 1997 and concussion protocols in 2011.  Read more about the lawsuit here.
