The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that Ford is recalling some of its 2011 Ranger trucks due to faulty brake lights. If you have been injured in a Missouri accident due to a defective product, you may be eligible to receive compensation from the parties at fault through a Missouri personal injury claim.

The recall also affects certain Ranger trucks modeled in the years 2004 through 2010, along with some Excursion SUVs (model years 2002 through 2005). Additionally, it affects model years 2002 through 2007 on F-250, F-250 SD, F-350, F-350 SD, F-450, F-450 SD, F-550, and F-550 SD.

It is a result of a failure to follow the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety requirements regarding lamps, reflective devices and other related equipment. The multiple functioning switches in these Ford vehicles contain a defective subcomponent (slider).

The slider can lead to a malfunction in the tail lights, turn signal, hazard warning signal and brake lights. Non-functioning lights increase the risk of a severe accident.

If you have been injured as a result of a defective product related to an auto recall or any other type of product, you could be entitled to receive compensation. You should immediately consult with a Missouri law firm to discuss your case.
