Jill Bollwerk will be speaking at the 22nd Annual Missouri Workers' Compensation Conference, which will be held on June 6 and 7 at the Tan-Tar-A Resort in Lake Ozark. This is particularly exciting, as attorneys representing employees rarely speak at the conference. She will share the microphone with well-known Missouri worker's compensation attorney, Nancy Mogab.
Jill and Nancy will be speaking about Issues regarding ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, Disability Benefits and Unpaid Medical Bills. Many injured workers are forced to pay for medical expenses themselves in cases that are denied, and often times, those bills are paid by their self-funded ERISA health plan, or through Medicare or Medicaid benefits. These benefit providers nearly always require reimbursement, which can make settling a disputed case with unpaid medical bills included sometimes tough. Jill and Nancy will address strategies on resolving such cases with difficult issues.
Furthermore, an employee who is receiving Social Security Disability benefits has to face multiple issues in settlements, including benefits offsets, Medicare secondary payer reimbursement, and in considering Medicare's interest in future medical treatment. This will be discussed as well.
