May 20, 2011 - The Missouri Department of Transportation is in the midst of changing the speed limit, installing guard cables, and executing stricter law enforcement in an effort to reduce accidents on Route 50.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has made a decision to change the speed limit to 60 mph trailing from Todd George Road to the I-470 interchange. The department has also begun construction along the shoulders of the roads that will set guard cables to have more control of vehicles that run off course. Stricter law enforcement has been put in place for negligent driving. This includes speeding, inattentive drivers, failure to use signals, and tailgating.
