Cummins's recall of certain model engines is underway. The company is recalling several engines due to the risk of them detaching and presenting a fire hazard. If a faulty part was the reason for your accident in St. Louis, a defective product lawyer can help you file a claim to obtain the compensation you need and deserve.

Model Years of Cummins Engines Recalled

The following engines were shipped in 2010 from September through December to several different manufacturers:

  • ISB6.7;
  • ISC8.3;
  • ISL9;
  • ISX11.9; and
  • ISX15.

These engines were installed into many different types of cars included RVs, emergency vehicles, buses, and trucks.

The engines contain a defective T-bolt on certain V-band clamps (Q187684, Q187685, and Q187686) that connect the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst/Diesel Particulate Filter (DOC/DPF) assembly to the car.

The T-bolt has a risk of becoming torn or loosening. In the event that this occurs, a gas leak can happen, causing the vehicle to catch on fire or the DOC/DPF can completely detach from the car, which can cause a major accident on the road. Defective products on vehicles can hurt both the driver and others on the road.

Cummins and manufacturers are working together to contact all owners of the defective product, but you can call Cummins, too, at 1-812-377-5000.
